Ride on the loco through glorious countryside, pause at Combpyne Station and marvel at Cannington Viaduct before arriving high above the sea at Lyme Regis. The railway has long since closed, but this popular film brings it back to life through a beautiful simulation by Golden Age Developments, enriched with commentary and personal memories from Terry Guppy, who worked on the line as a fireman.
Cannington Viaduct - a weekend to remember
Share the excitement as Cannington Viaduct opens to the public for the first time since the Axminster to Lyme Regis railway closed in 1965. Over one unforgettable weekend in September 2026, visitors walked along the old track bed and enjoyed spectacular views across the Devon–Dorset countryside. Music producer and railway enthusiast Pete Waterman joined the celebrations, adding to the joy of bringing this remarkable piece of railway heritage back to life.
